Call for Papers: Advancing Health and Human Well-Being through AI and Digital Innovation

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, machine learning, wearable technologies, virtual reality, and data-driven digital platforms is reshaping the ways in which health, well-being, rehabilitation, education, and human-centered services are assessed, delivered, and improved. These emerging technologies offer new opportunities for continuous monitoring, personalized intervention, intelligent decision-making, and more accessible services across diverse populations and socioeconomic contexts.

This issue invites original research, reviews, and interdisciplinary studies exploring the development, application, evaluation, and societal implications of artificial intelligence and digital technologies for health and human well-being. Particular attention is given to research that combines computational approaches with real-world applications and addresses challenges related to accessibility, user experience, population diversity, and practical implementation.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced data analytics in healthcare, including deep learning, graph neural networks, multimodal data analysis, disease risk prediction, and patient stratification.
  • Digital health monitoring, wearable technologies, and intelligent intervention systems for continuous health assessment, personalized care, and chronic disease management.
  • AI-enabled mental health, rehabilitation, and assistive technologies, including virtual reality, intelligent rehabilitation systems, and digital approaches to psychological assessment and treatment.
  • Human-centered digital health and medical technology design, including medical device interfaces, user experience, accessibility, and technology adoption.
  • Digital technologies for healthy aging, sports, population health, and public health, including cognitive health, biomechanical monitoring, injury prevention, digital surveillance, and spatial analysis.

Big.D particularly welcome interdisciplinary and application-oriented research that bridges artificial intelligence, healthcare, public health, engineering, behavioral science, education, and human-computer interaction. Studies involving real-world datasets, multi-center validation, mixed-methods approaches, systematic reviews, and innovative methodological frameworks are also encouraged.
