Open Access Policy
Open Access Policy
Big.D provides immediate open access to its content on the principle of making research freely available to the public in support of a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Big.D follows an open access policy under which all published articles are freely and permanently available on the journal website from the date of publication. Readers have unrestricted access to all content without any subscription, payment, or registration requirement. No user account or login is required to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles.
Publication Fees
Big.D does not charge any article processing charges (APCs) or any other publication-related fees.
Self-Archiving Policy
Authors are permitted to deposit the accepted manuscript or the published version of their articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, or any other repository or platform of their choice, including personal websites and the publisher’s website, with proper citation and DOI linking.
Preprints: Authors may submit manuscripts previously made available as preprints, provided they have not undergone peer review elsewhere and comply with the journal’s formatting and style requirements. Authors should disclose in the cover letter and in the Further Disclosure in Appendix whether the manuscript has been posted on a preprint server. Upon acceptance and publication in Big.D, authors must update the preprint server to indicate that the paper has been formally published in the journal, including a reference to the final published version.
Accepted Author Manuscript (AAM): Authors can deposit the accepted author manuscript (the version that has undergone peer review and has been accepted for publication, but has not yet been typeset) in institutional repositories, funder-mandated repositories, subject repositories, or other repositories or platforms of their choice, whether non-commercial or commercial. When depositing the AAM, authors are encouraged to include the article title, journal information, and a link to the published version (Version of Record) via its DOI, together with the recommended citation.
Version of Record (VoR): Authors may deposit the published version of their articles (PDF and/or HTML) on institutional repositories or other repositories or platforms of their choice after publication. When depositing the Version of Record, the integrity of the published article must be preserved. Journal branding, copyright notices, and licensing information must not be removed. The deposited version must clearly indicate that the article is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license and include the DOI link and recommended citation.
Embargo: Big.D does not impose any embargo period on the self-archiving of preprints, accepted manuscripts, or published versions. Authors may deposit the permitted versions immediately upon acceptance or publication, as applicable.
Digital Preservation Policy
Big.D ensures the long-term preservation of its published content. All articles are stored on the journal’s official website and servers, with regular backups and access control measures. In the event of technical failure, the journal is committed to restoring access to archived content.
