Editorial: Intelligent, Responsible, and Human-Centered Design Engineering
Abstract
This issue of Big.D examines how intelligent technologies can balance technical performance with human adaptability, sustainability, privacy, cultural context, and responsible implementation. Contributions span biomedical engineering, AI-enabled healthcare, neurotechnology, bioelectronics, adaptive design, digital platforms, culturally sensitive assessment, privacy-preserving computation, moral perception, and sustainable additive manufacturing. Together, they show that design-enabled engineering must integrate computational intelligence with human factors, ethical responsibility, resource efficiency, and social context to develop technologies that are technically capable, trustworthy, sustainable, and meaningfully embedded in human systems.
