Editorial: Bio-Inspired Biomedical Engineering and Intelligent Wearable Systems
Abstract
This issue of Big.D highlights the convergence of bio-inspired engineering, biomedical technologies, intelligent sensing, robotics, and wearable systems. Contributions explore biomimetic adhesion, soft and nanoscale robots, neural prosthetic control, adaptive exoskeletons, personalized biomechanical design, electronic skin, smart insoles, sleep interventions, and flexible sensors. Together, these studies show how biology, advanced materials, computation, fabrication, and clinical needs can be integrated into functional healthcare technologies, demonstrating the potential of design-enabled engineering to produce measurable, personalized, and implementable biomedical systems for real-world applications.
